Testing Cells

Conventionally, the hydrogen environment tests have been performed in water with dissolved hydrogen. Hydrogen is often produced electrochemically when cathodic protection phenomena are simulated. Hydrogen can also be produced as a corrosion product of H2S corrosion on steel. The testing methods application is related, for example, to the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) and hydrogen permeation-related properties. Cormet provides testing cells, electrochemical tools and Devanathan cells for the hydrogen permeation studies.


The very same ambient temperature and pressure testing cells can be used for the gaseous hydrogen studies if the hydrogen pressure and volume flow rate are low. One has to take care of the adequate and continuous ventilation in the lab or in the draft cabinet.
