High-Speed Loops

A high-speed loop is a versatile instrument to study the effects of flow on corrosion and electrochemical behaviour of materials. It can be used to test not only standard specimen geometries but also different kinds of real-life geometries such as elbows, bends, valve bodies, etc. Cormet’s latest high-speed loop simulates the heat transfer and boiling phenomena leading to the crud formation on the nuclear fuel. The critical heat flux (CHF) phenomena can also be studied using a high-speed loop. The very same instrument can also be used to simulate heat exchanger/steam generator operation. High-speed loops are typically complicated and large instruments.
